Harbours and Marina

Marina di San Lorenzo grows with further new services

“…Indi i monti Ligustici, e riviera / che con aranci e sempre verdi mirti / quasi avendo perpetua primavera…”. The perpetual spring of which Ludovico Ariosto tells us in Orlando Furioso is to be found on the Riviera dei Fiori, in that part of western Liguria which enjoys favourable and mild atmospheric conditions where a microclimate that is almost always sunny, not very rainy and protected from the north winds by the mountain chain of the Alps, extends from Capo Mimosa, in the territory of the municipality of Cervo, to the mouth of the Rio San Luigi, in the municipality of Ventimiglia. This perimeter, which reaches as far as the French border, is home to Marina di San Lorenzo, in San Lorenzo al Mare, in the province of Imperia.

It is a true resort for yachts and – as of this year – superyachts of up to 40 meters in length. There are 260 berths protected by a breakwater, internally quaied and parallel to the coast for 500 meters, with a reef breakwater on the sea side, and by a breakwater below. The harbour is accessed from the intersection of the two piers to the south-west. A protected and magical bay, as they like to call it, which will make transit and life in the port an experience, as well as a functional station. There are seven piers and a draft of 4 metres. The port facility is very luxurious and built in harmony with the territory, the area is free of traffic, easy to access and with adjacent car parks that allow you to arrive by car right next to your boat. The beautiful and intimate coastal village of San Lorenzo al Mare is just a few minutes away and is connected to the port by a seafront promenade, including a cycle path, and it is also possible to hire your own bike for an excursion into the centre.

The recent restyling of the marina allows for the latest generation of electricity columns and the new moorings for superyachts are located opposite the Management on the main quay. The marina is out of the city, yet close to it, to guarantee tranquillity, privacy and peace for owners, but also services and efficiency. Far from the hustle and bustle and noise pollution, the Marina di San Lorenzo has, among its priorities, the objective of a peaceful holiday away from prying eyes for its owners.

The attentive services are expressed both in the beauty of the port area and in the luxury Hotel Riviera dei Fiori, a 4-star accommodation facility capable of welcoming Marina di San Lorenzo guests in the 43 rooms available. The hotel also offers bar service, restaurant, bathing establishment with private beach, bike rental and Private SPA Jacaranda, whose entrance includes sauna, steam bath, emotional shower, Jacuzzi, bathrobe and slippers and – why not (?) – a complimentary bottle of prosecco.

The hotel has a pagoda structure, the rooms are all surrounded by greenery, and enjoy an incomparable view of the sea: in fact, they overlook partly the private beach, located in a natural inlet of the coast, and partly the port. In short, a 4-star hotel where you can really see the stars at night.

While owners are pampered by the hotel services, the yachts and life on board are also well looked after. The services on offer are excellent: 24-hour, seven-day-a-week mooring assistance, private covered garages, a private beach, provisioning, 24-hour surveillance, a refuelling service, a golf and shopping shuttle bus and a gym.

The presence of the shipyard ensures particularly attentive treatment for boats in need of assistance, and all kinds of services are available there. San Lorenzo al Mare Cantieri offers hauling and launching, refitting and rebuilding, indoor storage, ordinary and extraordinary maintenance services, specialized technical assistance on all types of marine engines, and is also an authorized Volvo Penta workshop. Yacht Master Italia, a partner of the marina, provides charter, refitting, rope splicing and yacht sales services.

The marina is also an exclusive and decidedly cutting-edge location for dynamic sports in contact with nature: it is possible to play golf on professional courses – such as the Castellaro Golf Resort -, sailing, tennis, trekking and diving schools. Also in 2021 San Lorenzo al Mare is confirmed as FEE Blue Flag, a certification that guarantees a very high quality of services.
