Sunreef Yachts opens a new shipyard in UAE

Sunreef Yachts keeps on growing, determined to continue its global expansion strategy in the yachting sector. The Polish company, already the owner of two shipyards in Gdansk with over 125,000 square meters of industrial space, is currently constructing a new production facility in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Developed over an area of as much as 65,000 square meters, the new facility will incorporate the latest technologies in luxury yacht construction and meet the highest standards of sustainability and energy efficiency. Sunreef Yachts is collaborating with RAK Maritime City to pursue the development of the facility, which will be able to offer a 360-degree approach to yacht production with a modern paint shop, joinery, upholstery and stainless steel workshops, all equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and the latest robotics. The first production and CNC sheds are already nearing completion.

Ras Al Khaimah, an important crossroads between the West and the East, was chosen by Sunreef Yachts due to exceptional government incentives for the industry and the ease of access to key markets and existing transportation infrastructure in the city of the United Arab Emirates.

We can now further expand in an environment that merges perfect strategic location, skilled workforce and proactive mindset– says Francis Lapp, founder and president of Sunreef Yachts– The yachts produced in Ras Al Khaimah will elevate eco-responsible yachting to a new level and showcase industry-first technology”.

Munira Lapp, director of Sunreef Yachts Middle East, adds: “The Ras Al Khaimah shipyard will work side by side with our local Dubai office, employing a team of specialists from various fields. The goal is to form a recreational boating think tank that not only anticipates trends but also shapes the future of boating with creative solutions. I believe it will be the perfect infrastructure to realize the most advanced concepts of eco-responsible yachting”.

The new Ras Al Khaimah facility is an important part of Sunreef Yachts’ global expansion strategy that will not only strengthen the company’s presence in the Middle East, but also allow a stronger connection with the Asian and Australian markets. And with the company’s two existing manufacturing sites in Poland, Sunreef Yachts is most definitely going global with its range of sustainable catamarans.

The first units built in Ras Al Khaimah by Sunreef Yachts will be the hybrid ULTIMA catamarans and motor and sailing catamarans from 50 to 70 feet in length.
