Marina di Varazze: 10 years of excellence

Marina di Varazzethe Italian marina owned by Azimut-Benetti Group, celebrates its 10 anniversary and a story of excellence.

From 2008 up until today, the marina has been awarded both the prestigious “Blue Flag” and the “Five Stars” certification issued  by the International Marine Certification Institute. Furthermore, in 2008, it obtained the “Best marina Development Italy 2008” recognition and, in 2008, it awarded the “Best Luxury Marina Development Italy” prize.

Over these years, the marina has confirmed to be particularly appreciated by yachtsmen. In the last two years, contracts have increased by 15% and, in 2016, the marina registered 1,320 days of transit.

In addition to the high quality of its services, the marina enjoys a privileged position in the heart of the historic port of Genoa, near the city centre and not far from French coasts.

Inspired by the French model, the marina is an area which, specifically reserved for recreational boating, provides its guests with a wide range of services and proposals so that they have the best possible holiday and cruising experience.

Marina di Varazze is not a way station but a tourist destination to live thanks to a complex of building and a wide range of shops, restaurants, coffee bars, services and much more, all completed by a packed calendar of cultural, culinary and sport events which take place during all the year in order to make the seasonality of the marina longer and reinforce the tie with the surrounding territory” Azimut-Benetti Group Vice-President Giovanna Vitelli explains.

In order to improve its own services, last July, Marina di Varazze also established a partnership with Alfa Shipyard, a society whose core business is represented by refitting and maintenance activities. The agreement resulted in a new business reality called Alfa Servizi Nautici in order to develop refitting, maintenance and repairing activities for recreational boats within the area of the former Baglietto di Varazze shipyard.

Marina di Varazze offers 800 berths for boats up to 35 m in length and stretches over a surface area of 232,000 square metres.

Apartments, shops, bars, restaurants and 900 parking spaces complete the provision of services of the marina. Besides quality, the Marina di Varazze has also come up with the concept of service freedom. Boat owners can choose whether they want to manage their boat entirely or partially on their own, by taking advantage of the nautical assistance services found in the port, or hand over the task to the Marina di Varazze.

Guests can even enjoy the possibility of renting bikes, electric, luxury and courtesy cars, in addition to the full assistance provided by the marina to book hotels, theatre and fly tickets, catering services, custom itineraries and dog-sitters.
