Superyacht Cup Palma, the eagerly awaited regatta is ready to start

The four-day Superyacht Cup Palma 2022, which will be held from June 29th onwards, is now just a few days away. This is Europe’s oldest regatta dedicated to superyachts and this year will surprise us already from the first day, with two races in the J-Class category, in which Topaz, Ranger, Velsheda and the newcomer, Svea, will be competing.

The other participants will take the stage over the remaining three days in the luxury ocean cruiser, modern classic and high performance carbon flyers categories.

The 24-metre Wally yacht Rose, formerly known as Tango, will join this year and will be the smallest boat in the race.

The new owners of Rose are keen to build on her racing pedigree,” said her skipper Ben Potter –We have a 2022 calendar with emphasis on the biggest and best regattas, and Superyacht Cup Palma will undoubtedly provide one of the highlights of the season. We are all really looking forward to it ”.

The excitement is growing and the Superyacht Cup Palma team are flat-out making the final preparations for what we believe will be a memorable regatta,” said Event Director Kate Branagh – We are delighted to welcome Rose to the Superyacht Cup family, adding further spice to an already competitive fleet, and we are also looking forward to greeting our recently announced Official Timepiece, Jaquet Droz ”.

The Real Club Nàutico de Palma has been running the competitions since 2011 and for the second year in a row will also be at the centre of the events on land.

Combined with the return of our long-standing Preferred Hotel Partner St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International, all the valued components that make Superyacht Cup Palma such a special event are in place.” – adds Kate Branagh.

The owners’ customary summer barbecue will take place at a 5-star venue, the St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort. Other renowned partners are: Jaquet Droz, Destination Partner New Zealand, Silver Partners Astilleros de Mallorca, Evolution Sails, Gottifredi Maffioli, North Sails, Southern Spars, Pantaenius, RSB Rigging, Marinepool, Vitters Shipyard, Baltic Yachts, DYT Superyacht Transport and Hoek Design.

Registration will take place at the Real Club Nàutico de Palma on 29 June followed by the Club Captain’s briefing in the Sala Magna, followed by a Wellcome Cocktail presented by New Zealand and DYT Yacht transport on the Club’s terrace.
