Boat Shows

Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 is coming up: all details unveiled

It is now just under two months until the start of the boat show season and, this year, the first appointment will be from 6 to 11 September with the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022, an event where visitors will be able to see numerous boats of all types and sizes and, above all, attend some world premieres. Online pre-sales are now open, the only way to buy the different types of tickets. The starting price is 19 euros for one person and one day’s visit, up to 1166 euros for two people and six days’ visit, with VIP services, including courtesy cars provided by the Bentley partner.

Thanks to the renewed confidence of our exhibitors, this 2022 edition is shaping up to be a very good one with projections for 550 exhibitors and 140 previews, in line with the previous year. There are more boats and we hope that close to 640 units will be exhibited. Our visitors will enjoy discovering some real gems in-water and on land, boats of all types, equipped with traditional engines or anticipating the future with the first on-board electric, hybrid or hydrogen power systems ” explains Sylvie Ernoult, Director of the Yachting Festival, adding that “We are delighted to support our exhibitors in their eco-friendly development by enabling them to showcase their innovations, in particular through our “Green Route” and “Innovation Village”. Little by little, the nautical industry is improving its environmental footprint and we too are following suit by developing our own eco-responsible commitments within the framework of the organisation of this exhibition (for example: less paper, better waste management, etc.)

The exhibition areas of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022

Like every year, the Cannes Yachting Festival will be spread over several spaces, each dedicated to a specific category. The Vieux Port is one of the most anticipated harbours on the French Riviera and will host some 490 motor yachts from 5 to 45 metres in length, 80 of which, under 10 metres, will be on display ashore.

The most luxurious international boatyards will have their own space for yachts over 22 metres at the Jetée, and some 30 motor yachts over 24 metres will be moored at the Super Yachts Extension (SYE), an extension of the harbour made up of three floating barges, set up for the show.

On the opposite side of the SYE is the Quai Max Laubeuf, a marina that will welcome some 20 motor catamarans up to 24 metres long and 12 metres wide, along with 40 smaller monohulls. Ashore, there will be another 60 small rigid and semi-rigid motor boats, as well as an area dedicated to outboard and inboard engines.

New generation powerboats and luxurious daily boats will find their space along Quai Saint-Pierre, along with a number of medium-sized open and flybridge yachts.

Other motor boats up to 20 metres will be arranged in ascending order of length along the Pantiero, where more than 60 semi-rigids from 10 to 17 metres will be exhibited along with an area dedicated to some fifteen hybrid and electric boats. On shore visitors will find the shipyards and the marine equipment and accessories village, covering over 4600 square metres.

The Palais des Festival is dedicated to a vast assortment of luxury operators: shipyards, architects and designers, interior design, prêt-a-porter, accessories, tourist institutions, marinas, service companies (financing, banks, insurance, etc.) and, outside, the Tender and Toys spaces. On the other hand, the handicraft objects of renowned or more reserved brands will be displayed at the Luxury Gallery, located inside the Palais.

The other major exhibition area of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 is Port Canto, Cannes’ second port, located on the other side of the Croisette and divided into three sectors.

The Sailing Area was created in 2019 and is now the world’s largest in-water showcase dedicated to new sailing yachts. Developed on 4000,000 square metres of wide quays, in order to increase the comfort of visitors, it will host 115 monohulls and multihulls from 10 to 28 metres. In the middle of this space, the Innovation Village has been present since last year and is dedicated to start-ups that share the same values of supporting and developing the sea economy.

Last but not least, the Yacht Brokerage space has been dedicated to second-hand boats for the past 15 years. This year we will see a selection of second-hand boats over 22 metres, available for purchase or for hire, also meeting the crews personally.

In front of the second-hand boats, on the dock, there will be the Toys Area Furthermore, in order to reduce sea traffic inside the harbour, the sea trials area has been enlarged, accessible only if accompanied by an exhibitor.

A last and important novelty of the Cannes Yachting Festival is the Green Route, a route highlighting the eco-efficient solutions developed by exhibitors in order to reduce the environmental impact of the nautical industry on the sea and its ecosystems, with the aim of raising visitors’ awareness of the importance of eco-sustainability.
