Rosetti 38M EMOCEAN: anchored by spirits, sculpture and an aft deck boat lift

Rosetti 38M EMOCEAN: expect the unexpected on EMOCEAN

When a custom-designed, temperature-controlled, 150-bottle-capacity wine cellar greets me as I board the Rosetti 38M at the Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS) where hull No. 1 made her first stateside appearance after an outstanding unveiling at the Cannes Yachting Festival (CYF) in September, my inner voice tells me one thing – expect the unexpected on EMOCEAN!

wine cellarWhether you prefer sipping a glass of red or white, the layout lifts your spirits. Magnified in immensity by its reflection in the above mirror, the wine cellar not only visually doubles in size, it too divides aft seating from the formal dining room, and separates guest quarters from the forward starboard master stateroom.

The second focus of attention in the main salon – revealing the core character of the 12-passenger floating palace with exterior design and naval architecture by Hydro Tec and BurdissoCapponi Yachts & Designs – is the bespoke Giacinto Bosco art sculpture anchoring the center stairwell.

The situation of the iconic piece lifts more than just your spirits; it optically accompanies you ascending up the staircase. By the end of my tour with PR and communications manager, Consuelo Bentivogli, a deep connection could be felt between the owners and the Sicilian-born artist whose designs, inspired by the moon and the poetic dimension of dreams, adorn other areas as well.

Rosetti 38M EMOCEAN navigationApart from the art, EMOCEAN’s seven-by-five foot midship glass flooring panel does its part extracting EMOTION… especially the first time crossing over the clear walkway and glancing ten feet below into the lower deck, when both your heartbeat and pace pick up speed. Sunbeams filtering down level by level from the flybridge skylight naturally enhance the unique visual lucidity provided from the corridor. Bentivogli then tells me – The view by night is even more amazing.

Also noteworthy on the main deck, is the master stateroom setup incorporating a private office sliding partition for separation of areas, walk-in wardrobe, and wonderful fixed-position waterfront balcony just calling your name to stop, sit and smell the roses, or in this case, the salted ocean air!

Moving upward, the open aft bridge deck seals the deal with astonishing, unforeseen elements from minimalist flush speakers imbedded into the doors, to the stylish 1.5 ton tender crane-turned-countertop. Once the 6-meter ZAR Formenti 61 is lowered into the sea, the one-of-a-kind Crane Sanguineti– crafted of teak to blend in with its surroundings – effortlessly converts into part of the exterior lounge entertainment zone.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 401Ample anchor points also spread across the deck facilitating the flexible storage of additional jet-skis and such.

And while on the topic of motorized toys, there is indeed a Swedish Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 motorcycle resting on the lower beach club deck, for days when EMOCEAN is docked and a roadside ride is desired over an ocean dive.

When finished riding and diving, to feel more alive head up to the sun deck, and most fun deck, fit with a covered workout gym and 18-jet, cascading-waterfall jacuzzi pool, which fills with 5,000 liters in 30 minutes.

Helping to achieve the owners’ goal for long periods of complete ocean independence on the Rosetti 38M EMOCEAN, the number 5,000 resurfaces… this time in nautical miles (9,260 kilometers), which is the 10-knot cruising range capability.

Rosetti 38M jacuzziPalpably, the other part of the goal was to produce a structurally safe, sound and serene superyacht. Rosetti Superyachts guaranteed this could be done, seeing that, Rosetti Marino Group transferred a century of commercial ship building DNA in the oil and gas exploration field to its new luxury yacht division.

In the end, all the goodness on the self-sufficient explorer cost €18.4 million ($20.4 million) and EMOCEAN is available for charter through Camper & Nicholson at €144,800 ($160,000) a week.Pairing the Ravenna-based shipyard’s European success story (construction commenced this fall on the second edition of the 38M and prior to the CYF Sunday closure, news surfaced of a 40-meter explorer yacht LOI) with its recent day ravishing reviews from Palm Beach – Expect the Unexpected – with Rosetti Superyachts!
