Benetti, the future is now: Motopanfilo 37M and FB284

Two giant leaps into the future for Benetti. Here are Motopanfilo 37M and FB284.

Benetti presents Motopanfilo 37M and FB284, two new masterpieces with innovative spaces and functions.

Benetti looks at the future with two extraordinary premieres. During a virtual press conference – due to the current pandemic times – the well-known Italian shipyard presented two new models that represent two giant leaps into the future of luxury yachting: the Benetti Motopanfilo 37M Class yacht and the 64-meter custom FB285 megayacht.

A few months after the presentation of two other revolutionary boats – the Oasis 40M and the Diamond 145 – Azimut-Benetti Group Vice President Giovanna Vitelli proudly illustrated the company’s new course. A path symbolically described by the two new models, the Benetti Motopanfilo 37 M and the FB284, which, although different from each other, are united by the four cornerstones of the brand: innovation, reliability, building quality and heritage enhancement.

Both models were illustrated directly by their designers, accompanied by Benetti Sales Manager Sebastiano Fanizza and Marketing and Communication Manager Federico Lantero.

Benetti Motopanfilo 37M: when tradition meets innovation

The first model unveiled at the virtual online premiere was the Motopanfilo 37M, a project clearly inspired by the style of the charming 60’s yachts, of which Benetti was one of the best interpreters.

Exterior designer Francesco Struglia and interior designers Claudio Lazzarini and Carl Pickering (Lazzarini Pickering Architetti) described the yacht in its exquisitely evocative quintessence, as well as in all the stylistic features that make it a timeless model.

Exterior volume is the first element that unequivocally distinguishes the new Motopanfilo. Francesco Struglia chose the powerful style of the past, combining the hull and the superstructure in a single harmonious element. The exterior profile, characterized by neat and clean cuts that enhance the boat lines, is distinguished by elongated, elegant and austere lines. The boat is a shell that envelops and protects passengers, a true architectural case that develops, through a minimal supporting structure, a design where light is the master.

Particularly noteworthy is the Observation Deck which, once positioned around the central mast, is now located above the Hard Top, thus offering a small fourth deck to be lived in absolute intimacy and from which to enjoy a unique view while comfortably enjoying long sunbathing and relaxing moments.

On the main deck, the complete replacement of the old bulwarks with only glazed surfaces led designers to decide to use wood according to a new scheme, making it the absolute protagonist to decorate both the floor and ceiling, the latter characterized by a vaulted effect that, towards the stern, becomes double-curved thanks to an excellent cabinet-making work.

The sleeping zone consists of a bow master cabin on the main deck and four comfortable guest cabins on the lower deck, all furnished with a double bed. A small sauna is available on demand on the lower deck.

The boat has a displacement hull, optimized to reach a top speed of 16 or  18 knots, depending on the engine option selected.

Benetti FB284: six decks for an absolutely comfortable cruise

A background of expertise and innovative technological choices are the main features of the Benetti FB284, an impressive and powerful 67-meter yacht developed on six decks that enhance both the vertical and horizontal lines of the boat. Concept and exteriors are by Giorgio M. Cassetta while interiors are by Benetti Interior Style Department.

The only element that deliberately breaks the continuity of the boat profile is represented by the bridge wings that, enhanced in their discontinuity by the surrounding surfaces, load the design with personality while showing an exclusive shape-function combination.

The interiors are evocative of the timeless Made in Italy excellence which finds its full expression in the high-end finishes of the boat, inserted in a balance of intercommunicating elements.

On the main deck, the cockpit is dedicated to the guests, who are immediately welcomed by some elegant seating. A large glass window, with a central door that slides inside the superstructure, divides the stern from the particularly long saloon, with large sofas and a dining table for 14 people. On the same deck, the spacious pantry and the large square-shaped galley precede the two VIP cabins, characterized by windows, large storage spaces and wardrobe.

The lower deck houses four guest cabins and, as a result of the absence of the galley, a large cabin for 17 or 19 crew members.

The upper deck is entirely reserved for the owner and his convivial needs. Forward, the master suite is equipped with a private studio and two separate heads, one with tub and shower, the other with tub, both with very long washbasins. Thanks to its position, the cabin offer a breath-taking view of the bow and the surrounding sea.

The bridge deck has been conceived as a true party deck. The shaded area can be optionally closed with a furnished veranda according to the owner’s needs. A well-hidden external staircase leads to the 90-square-meter sun deck. The wet bar offers a breath-taking view while, in the bow, a podium houses a large jacuzzi.

The same spirit of optimization of the spaces has dictated the design of a sixth deck, the under lower deck, which provides the boat with important additional areas, both technical and storage-oriented, suitable for long navigation and aimed at significantly improving life on board.

Benetti FB284 is the evolution of the platform on which the award-winning 63-meter Metis yacht was built and on the basis of which the upcoming FB270, FB274 (65 m) and FB278 “Project Fenestra” (67 m) will come to life.
